Use these templates to give ChatGPT facts, define the output, and make missing information visible. Writing prompts work without a shop connection. Saving a draft or applying a live edit requires the configured kit and supported Etsy tools.
Replace every bracketed field before sending a prompt. These are free examples, not a guarantee of search performance. Never include an Etsy password, app secret, or authorization token. The prompts are readable and selectable without JavaScript; copy buttons are a convenience.
1. Prepare a new listing
Help me prepare an Etsy listing for [product]. Verified facts: [materials, color, size, what is included]. Price and currency: [value]. Quantity: [value]. Options, care, and fulfillment: [verified facts or unknown]. Ask about missing facts. Do not invent claims. Propose a title, description, and relevant tag ideas. Do not save or publish anything yet.
Best when you are starting a product from rough notes. Keep classification, shipping, and processing questions visible; a good paragraph is not the same thing as a complete draft payload. See the required-field checklist.
2. Write a description using only facts
Write an Etsy description using only this approved brief: [paste verified product facts] Start with what the buyer receives. Use a warm, plain tone. Separate specifications, options, and verified care details. List unanswered questions outside the description. Do not add safety, sustainability, or delivery promises.
Check whether the draft mentions accessories that are not included or assumes a care instruction. For an example of a restrained factual draft, read the description guide.
3. Review keyword ideas for relevance
Based only on [product facts], suggest buyer-language phrases. Group them by product type, material, color, and use. Explain which fact supports each phrase. Flag phrases that imply a feature I have not confirmed. Do not invent search volume, trends, or ranking predictions. Return candidates for review, not a final live update.
This produces hypotheses, not keyword research data. Reject unsupported features even if the phrase sounds attractive. The keyword review guide shows how to keep, reject, or verify suggestions.
4. Save an approved unpublished draft
Use the approved listing recap in this conversation. First confirm all required fields and the selected shop profiles. If anything is missing, ask me before saving. Create one unpublished physical-product draft in Etsy. Do not activate or publish it. Return the listing ID and state, or the actual save error.
Connection required. Confirm that a connected tool actually ran and check the draft in Etsy. If a request is interrupted, look for the existing draft before retrying. Photos and variations still need appropriate review.
5. Preview a listing update before approval
Read Etsy listing [listing ID] without changing it. Show the current title, price, currency, and quantity. Preview this exact change: [field and new value]. Keep every other field unchanged. Show the before-and-after values and wait for my approval. If the action is unsupported, explain the limitation.
Connection required. The current edit tool supports title, description, price, and quantity, not tags or photos. Follow the update guide for approval, expired previews, and final verification.
6. Check a listing before publishing
Review this listing information: [approved details]. Find conflicting facts, unsupported claims, and unanswered questions. Check that the title, description, price, and options agree. Separate confirmed facts from things I must inspect in Etsy. Do not claim to have inspected photos or settings you cannot access. Return a short checklist. Do not publish or change the listing.
A review prompt helps you organize your checks; it does not replace inspecting the product, photos, shop settings, and final listing yourself. When you are ready to connect the workflow, start with the Etsy connection setup guide.
